compassion and courage.  _{generally I have such a soft spot for the way katsuya cares for those around him, and tries to be the one to be compassionate even when nobody else is. that being said, that's what makes it so good later in the story when he starts being firm w baofu and giving tatsuya space. he's learning how to treat others, and that not everyone will respond the same way to the same treatment. hell, even passive tendencies where he makes maya deal w things are improved upon; he's far better at being courageous by the end of the game, and will name the things that scare him, such as nyarlathotep's tendencies and baofu's running away from the past.}

flasks and friends.  _{even then, he still has vices, and things he holds close to his chest. he won't ever go into his drinking until he's relating to baofu and close w ulala, but it's a crutch for him as the world's falling apart around them. most of my conjecture abt his drinking is hc, but i do think the fact he goes back to smoking after the game is a sure sign he's more comfortable w the fact he has weak points and vices, and doesn't feel the need to hide them around those he loves. tatsuya will understand. his friends will understand. nobody can do it alone.}

felines and flaws.  _{his gap moe tendencies are so adorable,,, loving cats, his intolerance of spicy food, and the ways others can catch him off guard w a well timed comment are simply too good. admittedly, there's torment in there, abt how he can't have it all and how he isn't the man the world wants him to be, but these are such frivolous flaws. he could be forgiven for having a few of them. that being said, the fact he's prone to errors, such as that time w the spicy curry spoken abt at the police station, is simply proof he's making it on hard work alone. he's not a natural genius, but one that does well w clues. unfortunately, spicy curry's proof is in its pudding,,, rest in peace katsuya.}

cologne and the cosmopolitan man.  _{this guy stinks! but in a good way. he reads magazines for tips on style and how to be a man of the turn of the century, but i'd like to think he has a lot of indecisiveness w cologne, simply bc while fashion trends are easy to follow so long as you have the budget, scents are often on a ymmv wavelength. get this one, or try this one if you prefer a more woody scent! katsuya's got a taste for sweets, which i don't think men's fashion shares, so when he tries to find cologne, he's utterly lost. he's stuck w one scent palette (in my mind, woody scents like rosewood, sandalwood), but now he's got to Stick to it while keeping to fashion trends, and having a recognisable scent. he'd overthink it, in tears getting tatsuya to smell his cologne and give an opinion (he has none),,, and ultimately concede he can't be across everything.}

pains and gains.  _{gym rat gym rat! okay, i'm half kidding, but i've worked it into a few fics thus far and it's probably staying as part of my personal canon that katsuya keeps grinding in the basement of kasugayama high until the rumour abt demons loses its power. at the start of EP, he complains that the power of his persona "might be too much for this body," but then he gets it under control after a few level ups,,, and katsuya's dominant level up stat is strength. i think that he's hoping to get stronger somehow, even if he's attained all the strength he can (99 strength katsuya every run),,, more of every other stat can't be bad, can it? and he's a perfectionist to quite a bad degree. i think he'd be meticulous abt it, perhaps even declining gym visits w ulala under the opinion that the gym won't improve his 'power' (but it will help him tone all that muscle he's hopefully gained,,,) so!}

radio and driving home.  _{i think katsuya's become the party's personal uber post-EP,,, during the story i'd like to think it's him driving everyone around, even though i don't think it's ever stated he owns a car, but then afterwards,,, everyone just calls him up if they need to get somewhere. maya has a meeting across the city? call katsuya. ulala wants to go and visit elly in yokohama? call katsuya. baofu wants to annoy katsuya? call- like, you get the vibes, right? and in addition to this, i'd like to think they've all set their own presets on his car radio. gone is his preferred easy listening radio,,, now it's top 40, r&b, and whatever strange shit baofu's found recently. tatsuya hops in and presses a radio button and is always surprised,,, never knew you liked that music, nii-san,,, (he does not but he's a good friend)}
